'Nu Au Bracelet' 1940 Original Linocut
Original linocut on velin arches paper, a proof, aside from the edition of 50. Henri Matisse cut the block for this work, one of his most beautiful linocuts, in 1938. In 1940 he printed an edition of 10 impressions followed by the signed edition. After the war he gave the block to the louvre museum archive. Who later printed an unknown number of unsigned impressions which have their blindstamp on the paper (from which this example comes).
